Skinny Pizza 's Reviews

Few days back , My friends and I patronised Skinny Pizza @ Wheelock Place for a birthday dinner. It was my first time there and i'll have to say that it's rather disappointing. :( I'll elaborate below!

Place and Atmosphere
Wheelock Place is a less crowded place as compared to other areas in Orchard. But Skinny Pizza was quite packed few minutes after my friends and I sat down. This is probably because it was dinner time already. Definitely nothing fascinating about Skinny Pizza in terms of their place , it's like  "4 Fingers" feel to me. A quick dine and go place. Atmosphere wise , very casual and relaxing , nothing much :)

Food
- The Mains
We had a total of 6 person , so we ordered 3 pizza. Honestly speaking , the pizzas weren't that nice. It was too thinly crusted and not filling at all. The crust breaks as we lift it up and ingredients were all over the place. By the time we scooped everything to our plates , it was not a whole pizza slice anymore , more of a "mixed" salad with crumbs. Each of us had 3 slices of different pizza , as we finished all 3 slices , none of us felt full. We were all rather hungry still. Such disappointment compared to Pizza Hut or Dominos where you will feel damn full after having three slices! :(

The English Breakfast Pizza.
Bacon , mushrooms , roasted tomatoes are the highlights of this dish.
PS. Can't remember this pizza's name. :( Will search and fish the name out!
Squid Ink Pizza.
Squids are definitely the highlights.
Truffle Fries.
This fries is just like any other fries , oily. But SMELL LIKE GASOLINE! Perhaps cause it's made of truffle and that's its smell.
1/4 Metre Long Sausage.
A little tad too hard :(
This is all that we ordered :) Definitely not a filling meal.

Conclusion
It's a very disappointing meal for my friends and I. It's not filling at all , we kinda feel like we wasted our money. None of these food are nice. I definitely wouldn't recommend this to my friends. Despite seeing reviews of this place's food being awesome , superb and all , I feel none of those. Probably my last time visiting this place for pizzas. :(

Directions :
Wheelock Place , Town. Take the escalator up to Level 3. Walk all the way straight , turn to your right and you will see Skinny Pizza.

49 Seats @ Outram Park

Recently visited 49 Seats at Outram Park for a birthday dinner with my friends :) Below are my reviews of that place!

Place and Atmosphere
This cafe is located by the street , like a shop-house. They have internal dining and external dining. But only people who reserved a seat can dine in the air-conditioned(internal) while people without any reservations made will have to sit at the tables and chairs placed outside. Another option will be that if you want to sit inside the restaurant despite not making any reservations , you will have to eat within 1.5H then you are required to leave.
The atmosphere is rather normal , not fascinating at all. Especially when you sit outside , cars , buses driving by. Distracting and somehow warm. Inside will probably be better.

Food
For drinks , I actually ordered the House Fizz. It's blackcurrent syrup with soda and sprite. Tasted really nice :) Other than the black current favour , they also have the fruit punch flavour! It only cost $2.50. Compared to my friend's Coke , which cost $3.00 , this is so much nicer and worthy!
House Fizz - Blackcurent
This cheese fries was rather mainstream. We ordered cause we craved for it. Haha. But it wasn't cheap!! $7.90 ! *shakes head.

49 Seats is known for their TomYum Pasta. But honestly speaking , it's very over-rated. It's actually not as nice as we thought. Even though there's like a MUST-TRY sign there and their popularity is quite high. It's very thick , not spicy , sick of eating it after awhile. The mussels was my favourite among the entire dish. Haha. Overall , this pasta was not my favourite. So much for being the most popular food among people I've came across.
"Famous" Tom Yum Pasta.

SEEE! WE ORDERED ALL SAME BECAUSE WE THOUGHT IT'S REAL SUPERB. BUT , A REAL DISAPPOINTMENT.

Conclusion
I didn't really enjoyed my trip there. It's not that good as we heard. Food was over-rated and the only nice thing there for me was the House Fizz. Perhaps next time I should try other food then evaluate again.

Directions :
Take an MRT to Outram Park , go to Exit H.
Walk straight all the way after you exit until you see the back part of an indian temple.
Walk towards the indian temple's entrance and you should be able to see 49 seats right opposite the entrance.

Ang Mo Kio 龙海鲜螃蟹王 , Mellben Seafood's Reviews

My family and I went to patronise this seafood restaurant today , to celebrate my mother's birthday. Let's look at my reviews of the place :)

Place and Atmosphere
The place is like any other restaurant under a HDB. It's not really a restaurant , its more of just like a place for casual seafood. We went to the restaurant at about 5pm so there was not much customers. But when we left at around 6.30pm , it was rather crowded with people queuing already. Not much atmosphere feel there , perhaps cause it's just like any other casual dining place.

Food
My family is not really satisfied with the food , despite this Seafood House being listed as top 3 of Singapore's famous place to have crabs. They think it's probably better to dine at Jumbo Seafood Restaurant or 螃蟹之家. They didn't find the crab exceptionally nice. It's comparable to those famous restaurant at East Coast.
Let's check the photos out! :)

Black Pepper Crab Bee-Hoon.
This dish is not that bad. But of course , the crab used is much smaller than the crab they used for a Chilli Crab dish. There was quite a bit of broken shells here and there among the beehoon , so you'll have difficulty eating properly. Overall , it's not too spicy , can serve 2-3 person.

Rojak Chicken.
This is probably a dish that you will not be able to try outside. They mixed fried chicken with rojak sauce. Combination is quite okay , but it's a rather simple dish. It won't be suitable for young kids as the more you eat , the spicier it will get. $15.

Chilli Crab.
Fresh and juicy meat. Quite a big crab. Standard is comparable to Jumbo Seafood Restaurant. Nothing special actually.

CHECK OUT THESE GIGANTIC CLAWS!
Steamed Dried Radish Dragon Grouper , 菜圃蒸龙虎斑.
This is one super costly fish. There's totally nothing special about this. Only the Dried Radish topping was delicious , the fish itself , is not that good , as commented by my mother and sister. It's very very common. Taste just like a Red Grouper. $50.

Beancurd Combination , 四宝豆腐.
Not a worthy nor nice dish. Ingredients was not that fresh , had a weird taste to it. Resulting in my family not finishing this dish. Only 2 scallops were placed in there. It actually cost us $30 for this dish.

Conclusion :
Based on my family's experience , we definitely did not enjoyed our trip there. Probably our first and last time. It's rather disappointing to know that we didn't had an experience like the other people who wrote good reviews about this restaurant. There was nothing special in fact. Costly and a regretful birthday dinner. My mum was not happy at all.

Carousel Restaurant @ Royal Plaza On Scotts Singapore

I've been planning on giving my parents a buffet treat to celebrate Mother's and Father's Day so while I was doing research on Singapore Best Buffet Restaurant , Carousel was always popping up in the list. Therefore , I made a reservation at Carousel Restaurant for a lunch buffet. Initially only bringing my parents because this treat was for them only. But my 3rd sister was alone at home so I asked her along , to celebrate her Birthday in advance , which is tomorrow and gave her this treat as a gift. HAHA. :)
So anyway , BELOW are my reviews of the place!

The Place and Atmosphere.
Once you stepped in the Hotel , you will see the restaurant on your left. As you walked straight , you will see the grand stairs (picture below). The inside of this hotel look just like any other 5 star Hotel , grand and elegant.

Lunch starts at 12pm. At 12PM , we went into Carousel. Our seats were at a private corner as I requested for it upon reservation. The place is rather well furnished and equally divided , such that there were food on display everywhere you walk. They also have private rooms for big groups dining. Place was nicely lit with grand lighting display. Seats were all divided equally with each set of eating tools on the table , arranged nicely. The dining atmosphere was also good , no disruptions , nothing. Check the pictures out!

Tables that are arranged nicely and neat.
Look at the right hand side of the picture , it's where my family sat. Right beside the girl in black!
Extensive Lighting used.
Each individuals personal tools to deal with the foods. Haha.
The Food and Service.
Despite being a Lunch Buffet , Carousel offers a great variety of food. Ranging from Raw to Cooked Seafood , Sushis , Salads , Roasted Meats , Chinese Food , Indian Food , Pastas , Bread , Soups  , Fruits , Fondue , Desserts , Yogurt , Asian Kitchen , and many more! You have so much options that I doubt your stomach can fit all kind of food they offer!
Here are some photos of the kind of food they have!

The Very Fresh , Juicy and Meaty Seafood.
(Photos shown are not the only ones they have there.)

Crab Legs!
My favourite part of the crab. IT'S CLAWSS!
I never tried mussels , BUT Carousel made me fall in love w them after I tried it here the very first time :)
Clawssss.
Steamed Salmon :) I prefer the Raw Ones.
Shellsss~
Their Japanese Kitchen.
(Pictures shown are only a few out of the many items they have.)

SALMON!
Many people queued for these salmon. They have different kind of raw salmons.

These sushi-s are just so nice :') My sister and mother ate quite a lot.
Other than Sushi-s and salmon , they also have a grill and fry counter , to serve meat , fried rice and vegetables.

The Salad Counter.
What you see here are just an example of their counter. Not only do they have vegetables , they have sauce and side fruits to let you add on. They also have cooked meat salad , like chicken or duck meat salad at the side.
Variety of vegetables to choose from.
Example of Seafood Salad.
The Western Kitchen.
(I'm only listing a few of their dishes.)

Western Side Dishes.
Includes wedges , potatoes , tomatoes , other sauces to match.
Black Pepper Chicken.
Not my favourite because only the outside was coated with pepper. :(
They also have this pasta station where you choose the pasta of your choice , tell them the sauces you want them to make it in. I chose Aglio Olio and I SWEAR ITS DAMN GOOD OHMYGOSH YOU NEED TO TRY MAN.

The Cooked Food Station.
They had about 6 types of different cooked food served.

BEEF.
The mussels WAS AWESOME.

Bread station was directly at the side of the cooked food.
They had pumpkin soup and seafood soup served at the side of the bread station too.

The Dessert Station.
(NOTE : They have a wide wide variety of desserts , this are just some of the pretty ones)

My sister liked this despite the mango being sour.

This little cups of dessert are so cute and nice!
My dad had the chocolate one and he liked it alot!
Fruit Pie!
Chocolate Fondue ! Favourite^^
So many type of things to dip!
At the side of this is also a make your own Ice-Cream Station!
MAKE YOUR OWN YOGURT!
Conclusion :
ALL OF THEIR FOOD WERE GOOD. They have other food like chicken rice , laksa , nasi briyani , curry , prata and many more too! I can't even remember all of them!

The Service.
Carousel Restaurant has one of the best service I've ever encountered. Their service staff are always smiling to you. They clear the plates that are filled with shells real quickly. Once they see it , they clear it and replace with a new one. They refill your plain water even when it is still 1/4 filled.

Helpful. E.g. My dad asked a service staff if he could have a cup of Latte. By right , my dad should be getting it himself but the staff actually got it for him.

Thoughtful. E.g. I wanted to grab some food together with my dad. As he stood up , his chair was blocked my path. I couldn't exit. Just as I was about to shift the chair , the same Malay Service Staff who helped my dad walked over and pushed my dad's chair in for me to walk.

Sweet. E.g. I told the staff that my sister's birthday was tomorrow and asked if something could be done to surprise her. They planned and eventually , they came up with a cupcake , with a candle on top. Not only that , they also sang a "Happy Birthday" song for my sister. My 3rd sister was shocked and too surprise to even react.
The Birthday Cupcake!

My thoughts :
I've truly enjoyed the first time @Carousel Restaurant. It was one of the best buffet restaurant I've gone to. Before I made reservations , I actually emailed the staff to acquire more information like what kind of food they served during lunch buffet etc. The staff were nice enough to assist my enquires and even attached a sample menu for my reference. Email them! They will be more than glad to assist you!
As for the costing , I find it quite reasonable. For 3 adults and 1 children , it cost me about $190. Inclusive of GST and service charge. I also had a card discount. Do ask them about it :) Of course , dinner will be more costly , since the food served will probably be even more sumptuous. Despite lunch already having such wide and nice variety of food! :)

GIVE CAROUSEL A TRY , YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!

Paw Pet-radise Cafe's Review

Today , my friends and I went to check out a Dogs' Cafe located at Balestier Road!! Below are the photos and my reviews on it :)

Before we stepped into the cafe , we could already hear dogs barking from afar. As we reached the entrance of the cafe , we felt , awkwarddd and lost cause we didn't know what to do. Furthermore , everyone there brought their dogs with them while we just went there empty handed. DESPITE some of us having a dog at home :( Still , we braced ourselves and went in. Haha.

The Place and Atmosphere.
When we stepped in , all we see are mostly dogs playing and running around. It was also rather noisy with continuous barking from several dogs. Of course , you'll see drops of pee here and there , I guess nobody noticed it and thus didn't clean it. Haha. But all in all , the cafe is still relatively clean. I find the cafe rather small , with about 45-50 seating. Each table can sit at most 5-6 people. They probably have little seating considering that they have to create spaces for the dogs to play around.
Atmosphere wise , at first you will find it rather awkward (especially if you go without a dog) as everyone there seems to know each other. But after settling in , you will find the atmosphere lessen a little , everyone seem friendly and they are more than willing to share information about their dogs. :) The dogs are rather friendly too. You'll enjoy at least a little bit there if you are an extreme dog lover. BUT , my advice for you is to BRING A DOG IF YOU HAVE ONE SO YOU WILL FEEL NORMAL!!

CHECK OUT THESE PICTURES!!!

The crazy Golden Retriever who kept barking crazily.
Probably the most obedient dog there :')
STUMPY! The nickname I gave her :D

Mia , The owner's Husky. The most laziest husky I've ever met , kept sleeping and sleeping. HAHA.
*sniffsniff*

The Master of them all are here. Black Chow Chow. (Resembles a gorilla HAHA)
*Opps. Humping in process. *Censor-ed*

Another Husky was brought in and this was a beauty <3

Golden Retrievers' gathering session.
Fatty Dog , HAHA.
Alrightalright , enough of the dogs , now , let's move on :)

The Food.

Beef Lasagna with sides of Fries and Garden Veggies.
Our reviews : We give it a 7/10. The Beef Lasagna itself was good , it was the sides that wasn't that satisfying. Especially the Garden Veggies. There wasn't any dressing to it and usually when we hear Garden Veggie , the first thing we thought of will probably be Broccoli and Carrots. But over here at this cafe , it's just lettuce and a slice of tomato. (Fries will be commented below).

Chicken Chop with Nachos&Cheese and Garden Veggies as sides.
Our reviews : We give it a 5-6/10. The chicken chop taste like normal Hawker Centre's Western Stalls' kind. Garden Veggies , as commented above , are just lettuce and a slice of tomato. They also served the Nachos to us without Cheese on it.

Fries.
Our Reviews : This fries was probably the saltiest I've ever tasted. Not to mention Macdonalds' , of course. It was so salty that we didn't finish it and left quite a bit behind. It was really disappointing. We thought it would actually be like Popeye's Cajun Fries but of course , we were wrong.

Potato Wedges.

Our Reviews : I find the only tasty thing among what we ordered , the Potato Wedges. Although yes , it was rather oily , but this was the nicest thing.

Conclusion :
I would recommend Dogs' Lovers to try this cafe out , provided you wouldn't mind about the hygiene there. Haha. There are loads of different kind of food there , not just what we ordered. Ranging from side dishes to main courses , pastas , cakes , desserts.

How to get there?
Take 145 from the bus stop opposite ICA Building. The bus stop at the mall and Hotel V. Bus Stop Number 01311.
Drop "Opposite Moulmien CC". Look out for a Guan Yin Temple. This bus stop is directly beside a Guan Yin Temple that has a traffic light in front of it.
Cross the traffic light in front of the Temple and turn to your left. You will see a road , cross the road and turn to your right.
Keep walking straight , you will see staircases after awhile , go up the stairs , turn to your right , keep walking straight. The destination is on your left , one of the shop there.

Toodles :)
